CHARTER

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF A CHARTER AND WHAT DO I HAVE TO PAY EXTRA?

The price includes: use of vessels and equipment according to the valid Price list, bed linen, and auxiliary boat with outboard engine in accordance to specification, gas, autopilot, GPS, usual services provided in the Charter base at the time of check- in and check-out, mooring fees in the domicile port and wireless internet. The price doesn’t include: fuel costs, marina and mooring expenses in other ports, port taxes and other taxes and fees.

WHAT IS SECURITY DEPOSIT?

The security deposit varies according to the size and value of the vessel and has purpose of covering any damages which may occur during your stay. This means that any damage you cause, you are responsible for, only to the amount of security deposit. Upon the safe return of the yacht the deposit is returned in full to you.

WHAT IS SOJOURN TAX?

This is a tax that is mandatory to all visitors to the country since 2007 and paid to the tourist board to maintain a high standard of service. The cost of sojourn tax is 1 EUR / person/day and it’s paid on arrival upon confirmation of the crew list.

WHAT IS THE “APA”?

Advance Provisioning Allowance is the standard arrangement for paying your expenses such as fuel, food, berths and other when chartering a boat with a crew. There are no mark ups on the APA. The Skipper will make all payments out of this amount, and is obligated to keep all receipts and balance the account for you. You can review the expenses at any time and any amounts not used will be refunded at the end of the charter.

HOW AND WHEN SHOULD I PAY FOR THE RESERVATION?

Upon confirming the reservation the payment is to be done by a bank transfer in 2 settlements; 50% of the total price within 7 days upon confirming the reservation and 50% of the total price no lather than 4 weeks prior to the beginning of your holiday.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO CHARTER A BOAT FROM ANY OTHER DAY THAN SATURDAY AND FOR SHORTER STAY THEN 7 DAYS?

It’s standard in charter that boats are rented on Saturday-Saturday basics. Short stay or renting the boat on some other day of the week is possible in low season. In high season dough, short stay is also possible but you would be required to pay full price of weekly charter.

WHAT LICENSES DO I NEED TO NAVIGATE A YACHT?

In order to legally navigate a vessel in Croatia it’s required to have valid skipper license and VHF radio license (both must be internationally valid or issued in Croatia).

WHY DO WE HAVE TO LEAVE A SECURITY DEPOSIT IF THE SKIPPER IS ARRANGED BY YOUR COMPANY?

Security deposit is never the less required as everyone on board is responsible for the boat. For example, you may cause some damage that is not the responsibility of the skipper. If skipper damages the boat in navigation, he is responsible for it, and he will cover the damage from his obligatory skipper’s insurance policy.

WHAT TRAVEL DOCUMENTS ARE REQUESTED TO TRAVEL TO CROATIA?

If you are coming from a state member of the EU then you can travel simply with your ID card, otherwise passport is required. Depending on your nationality, please check and apply for a visa. Additionally, we would recommend taking travel insurance for your trip.

ARE VESSELS AND VESSELS CREW INSURED?

All our vessels are covered with Casco deductible franchises up to the deposit amount according to the Price List for the current year. The insurance policy covers Compulsory Passenger Insurance and Compulsory Third Party Insurance. Your personal belongings are not covered with insurance and any damage incurred due to gross negligence, or with the plain intention shall not be the subject to insurance compensation.

WHAT KIND OF SAFETY EQUIPMENT IS PROVIDED?

All vessels have life belts and first aid kit as well as the fire extinguisher and life raft as proscribed by Croatian low.

CAN WE TAKE SMALL CHILDREN ON BOARD AND WHAT CAN WE DO FOR THEIR SAFETY?

Yes, but some precautions have to be undertaken. As an extra insurance for the youngest sailors we can provide safety net and lifebelts for the children. Please note that these services need to be prearranged and are extra charged.

ARE PETS ALLOWED ON BOARD?

Usually we don’t permit guests to bring pets on board. Animals are typically not accustomed to the conditions on a boat and sailing itinerary can be quite uncomfortable for pets. Occasional exceptions to this rule can be made so please ask.

IS THERE A SAFE PARKING PLACE IN MARINA WHERE I CAN LEAVE MY CAR?

There is a parking in marina with enough parking space so even in high season you needn’t worry about finding a place for your car.

AT WHAT TIME CAN WE EMBARK AND DISEMBARK?

Embarkation starts on Saturday afternoon at 16.00 h but it can be arranged sooner if the boat is prepared earlier. The disembarkation needs to be done at Saturday morning the latest till 9:00 h.

WILL SOMEONE SHOW ME THE DETAILS OF HOW THE BOAT’S SYSTEMS WORK?

Once you have settled on board a staff member will take you through the boat explaining how to use all of the vessels systems and machinery. Please feel free, at this point, to ask any questions about the function of the vessel – the more you know, the easier your vacation will be.

WILL I NEED TO TAKE ANY BED LINEN OR TOWELS?

We provide bed linen and towels. If additional towels are needed then please let us know in advance and we can organize more to be put on board before your arrival. Please note that beach towels are only included in our comfort packs for catamaran bookings.

WHEN CHARTERING CAN I LEAVE CROATIAN TERRITORIAL WATERS?

No, without a prior notice this is not allowed. Should you wish to sail out of the boundaries of the territorial waters of the Republic of Croatia, you are required to inform us as soon as possible in order to additionally ensure and prepare necessary documentation for the vessel.

WHAT IS THE COST OF MARINAS AND HARBORS?

The cost of berth in marina depends of the vessel size and term of the season. For more information please check the prices at ACI Club.

CAN I BOOK A PLACE IN A MARINA IN ADVANCE?

Unfortunately, booking a place in marina in advance is not available service in most of Croatian Marina. Marinas that offer such possibility are ACI marina Korčula and Palmižana and if you are planning to go there we would recommend booking a berth as soon as your cruising route is agreed with your skipper so you are shore to have a berth secured. Finding a berth off season is not a problem, however during July and August if you want to make sure that you’ll have a berth in the rest of the harbors we recommend arriving in early afternoon.

HOW LONG WILL LAST MY DRIVING TILL NATIONAL PARK/DESTINATION/LOCATION?

In the description of each excursion destination is also provided the regular driving duration to the final destination.

Absolute Splendor offers you not only taxi transfer services but also excursions and tours all over Croatia. The tours can be organized with a driver only or with a guide. Tours can also be fixed or custom made upon your preferences.

WHAT IS A TAILOR MADE TOUR?

A tailor-made programme is a customized and personalised tour with itinerary designed only for you by our travel advisor according to your needs and wishes. On clients request, it can be a private tour.

HOW LONG DOES A TOUR LAST?

Our half day tours usually last from 4 to 6 hours. Our full day tours last from 8 to 10 hours.

IS LUNCH INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE EXCURSION?

No, lunch is not included in the given excursion price but we can organize lunch on your request.

WHAT TYPE OF VEHICLES ARE USED DURING A TOUR?

You can choose either the van Mercedes Viano, Mercedes Vito or Opel Vivaro or car Mercedes E class or Opel Insignia.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO STOP ALONG THE WAY IF WE WANT?

The driver can make short breaks along the route on demand, however the breaks must be within the planned duration of the excursion.

DOES THE VEHICLE COME EQUIPPED WITH AIR CONDITIONING?

Yes, every besides other equipment it also has air-condition.

 

ACCOMMODATION

ARE THE TAXES INCLUDED IN THE ACCOMMODATION PRICE?

Taxes are included in the price unless the accommodation description states otherwise.

IS BREAKFAST INCLUDED IN THE ACCOMMODATION PRICE?

It depends on the chosen accommodation.

HOW CAN I CHECK IF THE ACCOMMODATION IS AVAILABLE?

Please send us your request and we will check availability and inform you. If the accommodation is free we will make a reservation for you.

WHAT IS A VOUCHER?

Voucher is a guarantee that you have booked a service from our offer. It has all relevant reservation information stated. Aside from the owner’s contact information, the voucher also contains information about the guest and the reservation: Guest’s name and surname, number of persons, dates and the balance amount.

WHEN DO I RECEIVE MY VOUCHER?

As soon as we receive your payment, you will receive your voucher as a reservation proof.

CAN I BOOK TRANSFER FROM THE AIRPORT TO MY ACCOMMODATION?

We offer you transportation service from airport to your accommodation and back.

HOW DO I MAKE MY RESERVATION?

Chose the date, your point of departure and destination and send us request.

DO ALL RESERVATIONS HAVE TO BE MADE IN ADVANCE?

We recommend you to make reservations in advance. According to the reservation we can grant the availability of the vehicle. Last-minute reservations will be taken into consideration only if there is an available vehicle.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE TRANSFER PRICE?

One way price includes one transfer from the departure point to the destination. Return price (a two way transfer) includes transfer back from the destination to departure point, all transfer cost (fuel, parking ticket and chauffeur service)

The transfer prices are always determined by the vehicle, and the vehicle type is determined regarding the passenger number or their wishes.

WHAT TYPE OF VEHICLE CAN I CHOOSE?

You can choose either the van Mercedes Viano, Mercedes Vito or Opel Vivaro or car Mercedes E class or Opel Insignia.

HOW CAN I FIND MY TRANSFER VEHICLE?

The driver will pick you up where you want. If the transfer includes the departure from the airport, the driver will wait for you at the check-out holding a board with your name on it.

HOW LONG WILL MY TRANSFER LAST?

The defined time is the standard travel time under normal conditions. It can be changed due to the season traffic jams or road works that directly influence the travel. In case of delay, you will be informed on time.

WHY IS IT BETTER TO RENT A TRANSFER TAXI RATHER THAN THE USUAL ONE?

Absolute Splendor offers you transfers with fixed rates so you are familiar with your expenses in advance. Besides that, with Absolute Splendor you don’t have to waste your time looking for a taxi fare.

WHAT IF MY FLIGHT IS DELAYED?

The Absolute Splendor driver will be informed about your flight details at all times and pick you up on time, but with the possibility of the arrival of the second vehicle.

HOW DO I PAY MY TRANSFER?

Your transfer can be paid through bank transaction.

 

RENT A CAR

IS IT ALLOWED TO GO CROSS BORDER WITH RENTAL CAR?

Yes, car documents include vehicle’s green card that allows you to.

WHEN AND HOW CAN I ORDER ADDIDIOTNAL EQUIPMENT(GPS,CHILD SEAT…)?

Additional equipment can be ordered when making a reservation or during rental period.

WHAT IS SCDW?

SCDW stands for Super Collision Damage Waiver – additional insurance which buys out the excess (participation in damage).

HOW MUCH SCDW COSTS?

Price for SCDW depends of the vehicle category.

CAN CASH DEPOSIT BE LEFT INSTEAD OF CREDIT CARD GUARANTEE?

Cash deposit cannot be left instead of credit card. There are situations when parking tickets of traffick violations are delivered to us 10 to 30 days after rental is finished. In case of cash deposit, we don’t have resources to charge.

CAN RESERVATION BE CHANGED OR CANCELLED?

Reservation can be changed at any time without any additional charges. In case of cancellation there are two situations: if the booking is made without any deposit payment, it can be cancelled at any time without additional charges; if the booking is made with deposit payment, reservation must be cancelled at least 7 days before pick up date to receive complete refund.

WHAT IF MY FLIGHT ARRIVES LATE IN THE EVENING AFTER WORKING HOURS?

When we have reservation confirmed in the system, there is always at least one of the staff present to rent a vehicle.

WHAT IF I DON’T RECEIVE FULL TANK?

In case you don’t receive full tank, you give it back at the same level as you received it. If you return more fuel than you received, the difference will not be refunded.

DO WE PAY CAR RENTAL PRICE WHEN PICKING IT UP OR AT THE END?

Rental price is always paid at the end of your rental.

CAN A CAR BOOKED BE DELIVERED TO MY HOTEL?

It is possible to deliver the car to the hotel. This service may be chargable, depending how far hotel is from the closes rental station.

CAN SEVERAL PERSONS BE LICENCED AS DRIVERS?

More than one person can be added to rental agreement as driver. At the moment of pick up all drivers must have driver’s licences.

WHAT IF I DECIDE TO KEEP A CAR LONGER THAN I WAS SUPPOSED TO?

It is possible to extend your rental. It will be enough to give us a call and we will extend it. Additional rental days will be charged by the valid pricelist.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO DO PAPERWORK WHEN COLLECTING A CAR?

Total procedure lasts 5-10 minutes.

WHAT IS EXCESS?

Excess is client’s max. participation in case of damage. Excess amount depends on vehicle category.
